As a graphic designer it is my job to communicate a message to the customer in the simplest creative form. Creating a design that not only tells a story and connects with the customer but also builds their perception of a brand. As a senior graphic designer with Nordstrom I work on multiple omni-channel marketing campaigns from new store openings, Holiday and Nordstrom Rewards Loyalty Program. My years of experience has taught me time management to deliver multiple project on time and on budget. Executing from conceptualization to delivery and collaborating with multiple creative teams.
Nordstrom Rewards loyalty program opened approximately 350,000 new accounts last quarter. With over 4.5 million active members, sales from members increased 10 percent and represented 44 percent of sales. As the lead designer I work directly with the Creative Director in the developmentof a cohesive branding and messaging across print, signage and online content. I oversee 3 other designers and regularly collaborate on all projects to ensure the quality and accuracy in the design.
I take great pride in ownership and the practice of my design while working collaboratively with other creative teams. I am always looking for new opportunities that will foster an atmosphere to help develop creative skills and teamwork in its design group. To work with people who are committed to excellence and will allow me to explore and create ideas that would have the organization be recognized as leaders and innovators in the design community.
When I am not kerning type or concepting a logo I am usually sitting down at the pottery wheel. It has brought me to a new level of creativity that has no formalities; no kerning and leading or ‘is the headlinebig enough’. It’s about working with the most basic creative tools, your hands and imagination. Pottery is more than an object or vessel that is part of your everyday routine. Starting as a clump of clay on the wheel and becoming a tangible form that becomes part of an experience. It’s where a traditional craft and modern form meet.
